If I run my Boiling Point pedal...or TS...into any one of my Fender amps...DUAL Showman, 1966 Super Reverb...and if the gain setting is way up...I get a "splatter" type of sound when I fret the 2nd string at the 12th fret and slide up to the 14th fret, regardless of which guitar I use, Strat, Tele, LP etc. I get no splatter if I turn the gain settings down to half way.
Is this likely the amps, the speakers, the pedals or the pickups? Might it even be my cables???
Do some amps, in fact, take pedals better than other amps?

Thanks,

RB3988

Check for ground loops by powering the pedals with battery only. Check the AC polarity of the outlets you plug into.
Its unusual to have a common symptom across different pedals and amps, to say the least. There must be a commonality to cause it. That's why I'm thinking AC power problems.

I ran the Boiling Point pedal by using a 9V battery...splatter is still there. I might investigate tubes in the amp...the pre-amp tubes are a mix...mostly Tung Sol, the power tubes are Svetlana Winged C 6L6's.

Have you tried rolling tubes in V1 or V2?
My WAG would be it has to do w/ the circuits cutoff frequency, if not tube saturation threshhold.
The obvious solution is to turn down the gain, until it functions w/o splatter, as no amp can function above its gain threshold w/o exhibiting excessive distortion in the pre-amp stage.
Also could be an impedance issue, try a few cables w/ different impedance.
