I just got a 1983 Super Champ and I am hoping that I can add an ext. speaker out. Just want to be able to use the internal 10" speaker and a 1x12 cab. Do you amp guru's think it will be OK to just run some jumper leads from the external speaker to a 1/4" jack mounted some where in the cab?

The internal speaker is an 8ohm Eminence Ragin Cajun I installed, so I am thinking with an ext 8ohm cab, that will be 4 ohm's, most of my old Fender amps handle that OK..

Most 2 x 6V6GT platforms operating in class AB mode run most efficiently at 8 ohms and I'd be reluctant to dip below that. Why not buy/build an extension cab wired for the correct load and let the amp's internal speaker "lie fallow"?

there are plenty of 2x12 cabinets out there that would do the job. arjay is right-just unplug the speaker, and plug in to the cabinet.

I have 2x12's and a 1x12, really liked the sound of the internal 10" plus my 1x12 cab. Probably just swap the hard wired internal speaker with a jack, like I did my Musicmaster Bass amp. The clean channel sounds good in this amp, but the drive is like a bunch of bumble bees at war with yellow jackets in a jar..

Handles my Fulltone Fulldrive 2 and Hardwire CM2 real good though with the clean channel.. The fat switch chingy rocks on this amp..

Sounds real good in stereo config with one of those 1x12 Monotone 15 watters..
