Hi, I'm new the forum but have been playing fender amps and guitars for decades. I recently picked up an early 80's Deluxe Reverb II. I've owned Rivera era Concert head and a Concert 1x12 combo. They're like big brothers to the Deluxe II and Princeton II amps.

The Deluxe Reverb II I purchased is a 4x10 running 6L6 output tubes. It's in immaculate condition. The person I purchased if from was the son of the original owner. His dad passed a couple of months ago so he's selling the amp.

The amp appears to be stock and has the original owners manual. The tube chart inside looks original and states 6L6 tubes, all the other tubes and locations match up. The Tube Chart say P/n 019922. I can't find any info online that would suggest a 4x10 Deluxe Reverb II was every offered. And I can't find any info saying 6L6 output tubes were offered with the Deluxe Reverb II. I pulled that chassis out and it's does not appear to have had any work done on the amp or resistors changed to support biasing from 6V6 to 6L6.

Is it possible this amp was special order with 4x10s and 6L6s in a Deluxe Reverb II amp section?

Thanks,
Drew

I've seen a few Rivera-era Deluxe Reverb II's but they were all 20-watt 6V6 platforms with a single twelve, several tone-boost controls, a master volume, and no tremolo circuit. The amp you've described ain't ringin' no bells -- any chance you could post some pics?

My guess would be someone put the chassis in a Concert 410 cab. Width and depth dimensions are the same, according to the catalog I have. By that time Fender tube charts did not include a model name.

My question would be what mods may have been done to run 6L6 instead of 6V6?

If no mods, then I would change back to 6V6, before you end up frying some expensive iron.

Pics would be helpful.

Transformer numbers, speaker impedance and wiring?
