I swapped out the 100k ohm from V1, V2, and V4. The amp is much quieter but there is still some hiss remaining. Where else can that be coming from?

The amp sounds great! Maybe even better than my favorite 1978 Vibrolux Reverb.

Vibrolux Reverb's and Pro Reverb's were really Fender's unsung heroes during the '60s and '70s. Dual Showmans and Twin Reverb's may have gotten all the attention as "coliseum-ready" gear but the working pros were well aware that smaller, lighter amps performed better in more intimate venues such as bars, clubs, and studios. My '66 Vibrolux Reverb with it's original Jensen C10NS's sounds as soulfully sweet as can be.

I bet! A blackface VR is on my radar for sure. Hard to find one in decent shape and price these days, it seems.

I have a 1971 Vibrolux Reverb. Of all the 6L6GC amps, I use this one the most. A great tone!

Very clean VR! I see you are setting the bias. Does the '71 have the balance trimmer or did it still have the bias trimmer?

Here's my VR. '77.

My Vibrolux has a balance pot. I did not modify the bias supply to have a bias pot. I have a couple more matched RCA tubes. After that, maybe I'll modify it.

Easy enough to do on those AA270 revisions.

You gonna ditch the snubber caps as well?

Be sure to document everything with pics.

That'll help those who follow in your footsteps.
