I have a 1968 Vibro-Champ amp that is all original including the plug and quite possibly the tubes. I was wondering if it was a good idea to have the plug changed out to a more modern grounded plug for safety reasons? Will this hurt or change the amp at all? Also it has begun rattling a little, thinking that it is a tube. Are there any suggestions for replacement tubes for this amp?

I would convert it to a 3 prong. I would invest in some NOS tubes in a 68. I have some in my 74 Champ. Pretty expensive though. It's your call. Personally I stay away from Groove Tubes, I never had any luck with them. but you may like them. I like JJ's, Ruby's, Winged C's. The choice is yours.

I also use Ruby Tubes, the choice of Santana!

I am not near my amp...so I thought that I would ask here. Does anyone know off the top of their heads what tubes are in the 1968 Vibro-Champ? What tubes do I need to replace all of them?
