Here's my SideKick Reverb 35 Watt...

I think it is vintage. I've tried dating it by the serial number but without success...

The serial number is SK 35 04374 which I think makes it early 80s.... If anyone has any thoughts please let me know... ta

I'm blessed!! My father gave me a 1967 Bassman (Blackface) outfit, and it sounds absolutely fantastic!! I've been playing solid state amps for all these years and never realized what I was missing. Vintage is certainly where it's at.

My Dad said he didn't know how old the tubes were, and I'm considering replacing them just to be safe. Any suggestions on which type to go with. The amp obviously has the 6L6 cofiguration, and I don't want to lose that GREAT vintage tone. Care to offer any suggestions? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a question about a Fender amp from around 1963 in all original condition and in tweed. The model number is 5F2-A and serial number is PO 2806 and its called " The Princeton ". I was wondering what the value is on an amp like this....Thanks

Does anyone know about amp repair ? My on and off switch is shorting out and you get a little shock when you touch it. Is this something you can repair yourself or should I take it to a repair shop ?

I just got them out of storage today, my well used and worn '69 Bandmaster Reverb head and my equally worn '75-ish Super Reverb. I bought both of them new.
Anyone know a good method to clean the grills?

I believe the 69 you may be able to remove the baffle. If so remove it and speay it with a mild soap solution then blot with clean towels. You can then spray water right through the cloth to rinse.
the SR though may have a glued in baffle. In this case, I know the other FEnders of that time period the grill frame was held on with velcro. The grill may pull right off and then you can clean it as described.
Good luck

I installed two-6x9" speakers in the 40 watt Bandmaster Reverb head.

I sold the original twin-12" Bandmaster speaker cabinet many years ago (I upgraded it to 2-15" Altec Lansing speakers) when I bought the Super Reverb because I didn't need that huge speaker enclosure any more. Kind of wish I hadn't.

Combined, my amps put out a total of 152 watts RMS.
Bandmaster Reverb = 40 watts
Super Reverb = 45 watts
Frontman 25R = 25 watts each
Crate 12R = 12 watts
Pignose 7-100 = 5 watts

Here is a pict of my March of 1965 made Fender Bassman. I have had it since 1972. I changed the screen resistors out because 4 1/4 watts had been put in where 1 1 watt belonged. I have re-capped it several times and it now have a matched pair of 5881s in it. It Had caught fire somewhere between '65 and 72. The last power tube socket had been replaced. They (evil beings for sure) put in a bigger cheaper socket in and it has pleagued me until last weekend when I pulled out both the old sockets and replaced them with ceramic gold plated ones. I also replaced some of the bias caps that I had put in last time that were radial instead of axial. It sounds great. I have the original two 12" Jensens in the cab.

Here are my two "old" amps:
- 1968 Princeton/'99 G&L (Leo's other guitar)
- Mid 70s Champ/'08 Am Std Strat
Both sound wonderful & leave your hearing intact at the same time

I have a silverface fender bandmaster head with a homemade cabinet. i'm assuming it's a '68, i'm not too sure. regardless, i love it.

found it at a charity auction for 100 bucks with a jackson concert series bass.

it was in shite condition, but a little work has yielded some great results.

Here's a pic of my rig. It's a '73 Quad Reverb head in a Twin cabinet. I just had Bill Moede in Tulsa rework the head and put new Groove Tubes in it last summer and I'm now having Eminence Legend's put in the cab & a wiring harness. I can't wait to get it back and hear it. I'll be keeping the original Jensen's in a sealed bag to be reconed. I play a 1988 Mexi Strat (black w/ rosewood)...
