64 Tremolux w/2-10 bottom. Greatest sounding amp I've owned hands down. I have a Groove Tube STP that's similar to a Deluxe on steroids, but the Tremolux is king. I also use a RT66 pedal and an Alesis Microverb. I'll post pics when I bring my camera to the theater.

Here's my early/mid 70's Twin Reverb and it's got a story- supposedly one of two that belonged to Joe Walsh at one time (no way to verify this.) It was given to me by a friend, but was in horrible shape after 15 years in a humid Florida garage- moldy and totally non functioning. I cleaned it up, replace the grill cloth and logo and took it to a local amp shaman for repair. After he got it open he called and said "It'll cost more than you want to pay to restore the electronics to their original state - how about I gut it and rebuild it as a '65 Blackface?"

"Umm, let me think, uh, SURE!!"
He nailed it too- the classic, warm Fender clean tone - "Sultans of Swing" for days!

Sean,

I've got the same set-up. Best ever for me. Original 10" Jensens in the 2x10 cab. I would call its condition close to excellent, if I cleaned up the Tolex a little (advice on that was what got me to this forum).

Mine's from May of '64, AB763 circuit. Blonde Tolex, blackface control panel. I think they stopped using the blonde when they ran out and continued this blackface series with black Tolex.

Is yours black or blonde?

I finally found a repro control pedal for the tube tremolo: awesome effect!

Did any of you ever see the pix of Pete Townshed (the Who) in the mid-60's? He often used a Blonde Tremolux head ("only" 35 watts) run through 2 4x12 Marshall cabinets. "Shakin' All Over!"

I'd never give up this baby.

Hey Doc, mine's a BF w/blonde tolex. Apr 64. They are great amps that don't get a lot of talk 'cause no verb. But that's cool, keeps the vintage $ down to a minimum!

The latest addition! Argueable the best all around amp ever made!

Not a beauty but affordable and restoreable!

Since I'm adding shots, here's a few non Fender vintage amps.

Before Don Randall came on board, Fenders were kinda hard to find, outside of Cal or the west, or Dallas. But especially on the east coast. Here's some of what you had to choose from.

This is a 1937 Epiphone Electar Model M. Single 12" speaker w/ 2x6L6's. I got this amp with a mint matching lap steel. 100% complete right down to the 1937 hang tags!
Image
TimeWarp ahead 10 years and see that the Model M has transformed to the Zephyr. Basically the same amp. That's the Model M lap steel behind it.
Image

And here's a couple of the competition's top of the line models from the early 50's.
1952 Alamo Amp-6a 1x15 with Tremolo along with an Alamo 1x12 extension cabinet. With a Jensen P15N and 2 x6L6's you might think this is a poorman's Pro but this amp was ahead of the 52 Pro in that it uses 12AX7's in the pre-amp and to drive the tremolo!
Image

1954 Magnatone Model 180 Triplex. Magna's top of the line in 54, This amp has Treble and Bass controls as well as the "Triplex" Bass, Dynamic and Extended Ranges. It also features a built in line out jack. Who did that in 54? With transformers on par with the WP Twin, 2-5881's, 2-5Y3's (I use 5V4's) 6- 9 pins, a P15N AND a P8Q this amp will hold it's own with ANY WP Bandmaster or Pro. Believe me I've owned both. When I sold my pile of Vintage amps this was the amp with a 15 I kept!
