She's a beaut!

Original C12N's, snowman knobs, OEM RCA blackplates, with the "PATENT PENDING" tilt-backs and zero chassis corrosion. A proverbial cream puff!

The tube chart pegs it as February of '66.

Great score, SB.

Rawk on!

8)

Very sweet Twin! '66 was a good year,I have a Pro Reverb and a Deluxe Reverb from that year...both are killer.
Enjoy that amp. :D

There does seem to have been some special "mojo" that afflicted the entire '66 model year.

My "PD" dated Bandmaster sounds much warmer and richer in harmonic content than either of my other two (a '67 and a '68). All are AB763's but the '66 seems to deliver the beefiest compressed overdrive of the three......

It's as punchy as punchy can be with a pair of Ipswitch-made Celestion V30's.

As usual, beautiful amp Arjay....yep,we have seen others mention '66 as being a special year for amps....my DR sounds better than the other two,a '65 and a '67,even the volume is louder at the same knob setting.
That '66DR is my grab and go amp for many jams or gigs,it's just a great amp.
Strange :? ....also my first car was a 1966 Chevy Impala,327 with a stock Holley 4 bbl.
It was a good one also....I only have a b/w photo of it,I need to transfer that to the computer someday.

My first "hot rod" was a '66 Belvedere GTX hardtop.

It was a good one too.

Baffle is in bad shape I need to install a new baffle. But both CTS 15" speakers are in great shape. Killer sound. Yeah, it is somewhere between 80 and 100 lbs. But there are removable wheels on the side. (removed in this photo)

Thanks to Arjay for his hints on baffle replacement. :D

The cab's dimensions are the same as these two......

Image

40"H x 29"W x 11.5"D

They're more impressive visually than sonically.

But then, that is half of the "rock star" image. Giant cabinet with audio coming out of the 22 watt Deluxe Reverb.

Arjay is that a binding going around the fingerboard of the sunburst strat? If so what kind of strat is it? It's a nice strat with or without, but in the picture it looks like it might have a binding.

You are correct, sir.

That's my "Numbah One" -- the first custom Strat I ever built.

Image

It's a 2006 Robert Cray hardtail body with a 2004 CIJ Premium Re-issue '65 neck. "Under the hood" are SCN pickups with 10-way S-1 switching. Vintage-spec MIA gold bling completes the package.

Arjay, love the guitar, sunburst with gold hardware, and the bound neck is the coolest, but you're killing me with the moto pick guard...a nice vintage white and it would be perfect! For me anyway! I guess I have never liked the moto...saw a guitar and amp covered in the stuff at the Musik Messa in the late 90's and had to take a picture because it was so damn ugly...just too flashy! I thought you were a ludite?

Arjay, She is a beauty, it has me wanting and Eric Johnson strat right now :D ,or maybe we can start placing orders for Arjay customs, cause you can't get a sunburst EJ in rosewood.

Thanks for the kind words.

I planned this guitar for about 2½ years before the actual construction began. I needed a lighter instrument after health issues forced me to find an alternative to the Les Paul.
