sadly is was from the death of a neighbor/friend. Several years ago an elderly gentleman moved across the street from my Mom. They started "dating" (my father died in 1988) and we all became good friends. When Bill found out I played guitar he took me into another room in his house where he had his stuff set up. This aforementioned amp,two acoustic guitars one being a 1960s Fender and a Silvertone electric that looked very similar to a Gretsch Country Gentlemen plus about two or three dozen harps. We played for awhile that day and off and on over the years and I always thought about that amp. When I went to his house last week to see his daughter she asked me what I would like to have. I did ask for one or all of the guitars since she knew I played and Bill would want someone that would use and appreciate them but they had already been spoken for. But the amp was available if I wanted it. Yes it's a silverface not a blackface but since no one in his family played Judy told me don't feel bad about taking it as it would be put to good use. Going from my memory being what a 48 year-old mind can be sometimes I believe Bill told me he bought it new in either 1968 or 1969. Tomorrow I'll go pick it up as I haven't had time the last few days and I'll date it.
I'm new here so excuse the long post.

Dude you have an awsome amp!
I have a fender twin date between the no master volume and pull/boost master volume it has been my work horse for 15 years!
thse amps are made to be played as long as you get a regular check on tubes they last forever!
I always look for a twin when i go to jams or any fender to be clearer
Peace and stratoblastin
K.P.
