Well that stinks, only one good tube outta the deal. Did you try the dmm ohm test on the 2&7 pins of the RCA's? If so what were your readings.
Glad you had a roller to match up w/ the replacement he sent you.
Honestly, I like the tone of EH's and have had a pair in my DRRI since 2012. They may not breakup as nice as vintage but the cleans are pretty good.
I also have a pair of smoked glass tubes marked JAN National Union from '44 they sound mighty fine, I think they are RCA made.
On the limiter, the 60w-120w bulbs light up to easy, I want it off unless there is a problem.
Glad you didn't have any issues w/ burnt resistors. Seems like you shut it down quick enough to avert a bigger problem.

Last night I metered pin 2 & 7 on all of the 6v6"s weak ones and stronger ones, and even the 2 failed RCA's, funny thing is all the made in USA tubes measured between 2.2 and 2.5 ohm, where as the 2 EH 6v6 measured 5.6 and 5.5
I am using the 500 watt bulb in the limiter, with the 60 watt I was just experimenting

Thanks, slight variations from meter to meter is all. Old production vs new production, different wire/tooling.
I tried to send you a PM yesterday, but I just checked it and it hasn't left my outbox for some reason. Was just checking to see if you wanted a good spare Sylvania GTA 6v6 I have laying around. If so, just send me your address and I'll get it in the mail tomorrow.
