My amp has started making an intermittent rising squeal...kind of like a squeaky door opening, or air being slowly let out of a rubber balloon. Stops then starts regularly. Any suggestions where to start checking?

Squeals are from an oscillating amp stage. It could be a tube or a bad cap or a bad ground.
Starting with v1, pull one tube at a time to see if the squealing goes away. Replace the one that makes a difference.
If tubes don't make a difference, look for dc voltage on the grids of the preamp tubes. A leaky cap can do it.
Tighten jack nuts and ground lugs on the power transformer.
