I bought a vintage bass cabinet. It is 32 by 20 by 11.5. The serial number is M 18020 patent pending. I it had the light fabric front with silver threads which is almost black from dirt/ wear. It has only one speaker left a D 131 JBL signature series in impeccable condition. It stands verticle with the handa handle on the side. What year and type us it? Will submit photos if needed

Ya, photos are going to be a big help.
Keep in mind that the forum does not accept attachments directly, and the forum "IMG" code does not worth with Photobucket.
Personally, I use Imgur

The size of the cabinet, suggests a horizontally configured cabinet, as well as the serial number M 18020 suggests a serial number on a tilt-back leg, in which case I would suggest a pre-1967 Bandmaster or Bassman cabinet, but neither suggests a vertically oriented cabinet. On a cabinet such as this there would be inserts to accept a threaded thumbscrew to secure the head to the cabinet.
Without pictures, it's not possible to help you. I refer you to this post.

There may be a date penciled or otherwise marked on the inside but not necessarily so.

Cheers,
