New member here, I just scored what I believe is a 66 Bassman, seems to be in very good condition. What I was hoping is if someone could take a look at the gut shots and tell me if you see any glaring issues such as mods done, or also possibly tell me what circuit we are looking at. I am not sure if these pictures help you or not, I can provide any additional info needed. Thanks in advance - Rob D

I don't have access to your pics. If you could post them here using the IMG button(seen above) when preparing a reply or editing your original message you will likely get a bunch of views, help and insights into what you may have.

From where your pics are uploaded(google), you'll need to copy and paste the http address between the code inserted into the text area after pressing the IMG button.
format is below
(img]http://image_url[/img)
example (img]http://google.com/johnsdocs/my66bassman_chassis.jpg[img)
note: 1st and last character changed in the above example to prevent activating the link address

Preview your pic w/ the button below and you'll figure it out, the picture will be in the text.

Managed to find the pic in the introductions ok, if there are others, you might need to make sure they are "public", not "private". (shared)

Gut shots, pictures of the numbers on the transformers and choke, under the "doghouse" (metal cover), 2 letter code stamped on the tube chart. Tube chart will have a circuit #, but are often not correct.

Looks to be very clean from the one picture.

Based solely on the faceplate, I'd say 66' but could be early 67'. Definitely a CBS era grill.
More pictures.

I wrote a rather lengthy reply, but it seems that I took to long. It seems to me that Fender is their own worst enemy.

Oh well.

I'm sure as hell not going to write it again.

Very nice amp and Telecaster! You have any feedback issues with that semi-hollow body and humbuckers?

Vinyl, many sites time out their logins. Since many of my posts are verbose, I copy my post before I try to post it. That way, I can have breakfast or other interruptions and not lose what I wrote. If I'm logged out by the time its ready, I can just paste it in after relogging.

Thanks Tim.

I didn't set out to write a long reply, it just happened to work out that way. It was just a long winded post about 1st post delays and how I understand the whole preventing spam issue, but 4 days is too long.

Hopefully Rob will come back and not end up just another user who thinks his post was ignored, or never showed up in the first place.

+1

His Bassman is a marvelous specimen and I'd love to see more pics, especially of the innards (both head and speaker enclosure).

Right now, we're waiting to see the posts of 33 new members. Yes, they may have not posted anything but that is the count I can come up with without hacking. Simple analytics. It's summer, maybe Brad is on vacation, but let's face it if you posted here on July 14th, and didn't see your post, much less be able to preview it, would you come back?

Again, I say Fender may be their own worst enemy.

Boys, there's no doubt that there are shills from the factory posting a lot of these one poster questions.
They might be sales reps trying to get good reviews or junior engineers trying to get feedback on their designs. It might be the moderator who needs more posts to justify his job..
It doesn't matter. Its a great forum. The nature of a forum is everyone is welcome to have their say. It's up to the reader to decide as to whether the poster is genuine and what weight to give in considering whether a reply is worth the effort. Some of them plainly aren't.
So I weigh if the question is a valid one and answer as if a reader 10 or 20 years from now may find it useful.
So, Vinyl, I invite you to step out of the present and construct a sense of immortality as part of an American classic alongside Harley Davidson and Corvette. We and our contemporary Fender commentors will be studied for centurys as part of the American golden age. This digital record will persist, so we speak to the future, not the one poster who doesn't answer in the present.

Tim,
I'm simply saying that first post delays hamper things here. Click on the "members" and sort by "joined date". Then click descending instead of ascending. You'll see new members that have signed up since July 13th. I'm not anti-fender, I'm just saying that people come here looking for answers and don't get them because they think they're being ignored, and the answers they are looking for won't, don't, or can't come from Fender.

The factory is very involved over on the Mustang foolrum. Computers need support only the factory can provide.
If they answer other issues, that undermines the local Fender authorized servicers.
As you know, computer descriptions can turn out to be very different than the actual problem. We play a guessing game here. But theres no profit in it for any company to troubleshoot online. Too easy to spoof by a competitor.
