Yup, those are 39th, 43rd, and 49th week 1967 Mallory paper caps. Prolly drier than the Sahara Desert, by now.

They all now live in a heavy duty ziplock bag with the amp info on it.

PS The one 470 ohm on the 6L6GC was crispy and fell apart !

I'm guessing someone smoked the PT early on and replaced it with the 1969 Transformer ?? who knows for sure and then the fact that they spliced in the wiring on it ??? weird eh.

Easier to cut and splice than desolder and solder back. Probably didn't even remove rectifier/bias board. Just cut and solder in some new artificial ground resistors.

Edit

And reduce risk of overheating the PN junction of a diode.

Thanks T2 !
Bandmasters, Bassman and Super reverbs.

I'm amazed at The sweetness of those mid to late 60's Fender 6L6 amps

Here is my cabinet for this head.
Its an open back VHT 212 cab that I put a pair of Cannabis Rex from Eminence in.
Serious punch, bouncy low end and sweet highs too (no pun intended).

+1K on mid to late 60s 6L6 Fender amps! Especially those three!

Nice cab and those Eminences are very good speakers, great choices for the mix!

Those open back VHT cabs are really well built and sound great.
I also had the1x12 version when I was running an Egnater Tweaker for an amp.
I had a Weber 12A125A in it and it was awesome for the 15 watt Egnater and of course I ran my VHT Special 6 head through it too.

At first I ran the 2X12 with one C-Rex and one WGS G12C, I just couldn't love the sound and it was well broken in so...… The twin C-Rex gives me perfect sweet highs and Mids to die for, Lows that can be punchy way up the dial and so FAT at the top of the dial.

I told the wife that I'm done hunting for amps and cabs, this is my sound !

Not that I won't buy and sell or at least tinker around occasionally 8)

Posting multiple pics at once? How to make your pics private except for here? Be glad to help you with that if you haven't figured it out already. Just send me a PM.

Phototbucket, I'm done with them. They clearly attempted to extort people, they ruined tons of postings here and elsewhere for the sake of money, but even if they now have had a change of heart, I don't think they deserve a pass.

Ive got a shot at this cab, A Music Man 210RF ported 2X10

I'm very happy with my 2X12 with the C-Rex however The ported 210 intrigues me.

Anyone ever had an opportunity with one of these ??? Cant find a lot online about them.

Hidden Jewel or waste of time ?

Price? Original speakers? You're right about not being a lot of info out there.

Here's a couple of shots of one that someone tried to turn into a 2 12 cabinet, might give you some idea of how they're built.

Here's an idea of the design:

Conflicting info out there about OEM speakers, some say Jensen, some say Eminence. EVMs were supposedly an option.

No personal experience with one, but it's probably going to have more bass than an open back cab.

Interesting concept !
The guy wants 200 bucks, One speaker has a different mounting ring than the other and so the seller is sure its been replaced.

I do like the sound of tens, the funky port has me interested as for speakers it might be a roll of the dice eh !

As long as the cab is pretty much intact (no buzzing) --- this might make an interesting setup. You can vary the amount of stuffing in the reflex vent hole & check the change in tonal response.

Lot of hi-fi guys use fiberglass batting (like kind used as insulation), as insulation.

definitely give those 10's a chance. I very much like 10" speakers. My preference is "tight" and "punchy".

Well it looks like the guy sold it while I was getting some much needed medical attention :|

I had three pretty hard falls while doing battle with inmates over the last six months.
herniated two discs and one is pressing on the nerves pretty hard.
MRI done now off to see the surgeon.
Its been kinda rough!
I'm Getting too old to be wrestling with dope heads !
