So I picked up this groovey 1968 Bandmaster head

Drip edge, Black line, No tag boards or holes in the chassis that would show it had been "Black Faced"
Cloth wire and a proper bias control for a black faced amp.

The one real odd thing is that there is a 1969 PT in it.

She is now fully updated with F&T filter caps Sprague 25uf/25Volt and a 100uf 100Volt bias cap.

Sounds like a million bucks !

Still why the 69 PT when everything else is early 68 and the older BF circuit ????? Mystery Machine !

How I got it to work is too complicated to explain here.

Not familiar with Flickr, but when you are logged into Flickr you should be able to select one of your photos, then click on a link, button or something that will give you an "embed" code, which you can then copy and paste into your forum post. so that you get something that looks like this:

[img]http://your%20picture%20address.jpg[/img]

My personal choice would be to edit my "profile" on that site to share a little less personal info, but I'm a privacy freak. I would also strip all the EXIF data off a photo before I uploaded it. That's just me, though.

As far as your question about the power tranny, my guess would be it was replaced by Uncle Albert's Amp Repair in Indianapolis.

Cheers!

Chris, think you need a photo site that embeds the photos onto Fender Forums. Like old PhotoBucket. I'm still using PB, but will ask on other forums what they use.

Tube Asylum has their own embed software, so you can insert photos right from your computer.

BTW... nice amp! How's the tone?

Thank You Steve !

The tone is crazy good as you might expect.

I bought this one online and without seeing the circuit at a very reasonable price.
as you can imagine I was thrilled to see cloth wire, blue molded caps and no extra tag boards.

I'm guessing someone smoked the PT early on and replaced it with the 1969 Transformer ?? who knows for sure and then the fact that they spliced in the wiring on it ??? weird eh.

I replaced the tube socket on the 12AT7 , all new electrolytic caps and did the usual Tube swaps.

I don't remember there being such a dramatic volume drop on the Tremolo / Vibrato side as this one has and the normal channel has a 5751 in V1 so.......

Anyway I love it ! and it's so good to be smelling solder vapors LOL and digging around in an old Fender Chassis again !!!

PS most of the old caps and the pots are dated 1967 , if I remember right the OT is 67 and the choke was 68 .

The link should end in ".jpg" or ".png". If they give more than one option, choose "direct link".

When I click one of your links, it takes me to the page where the picture is displayed. If I click the image, it opens in the page and now I can see a "share" button. Click on the share button and there are 3 options: SHARE, EMBED, BB CODE.

We want BB CODE so click that tab. Choose what size you want and then copy the link (I chose 427x640).

If post paste the link as-is, you will get this:

When I click on the share button it only shows the link option.

Crazy !

yeah you probably see different options when you are logged in. Does it give you more than one format for the link? You want to find the one that ends with a file extension. Like ".jpg" or ".png".

That's just it, I am logged in and don't see any options in "share" except the links I posted above.

I did go back and make the pictures private so I'm the only one who can down load.

Guess I'll keep shopping.

How much does PB charge for a simple account these days ??? They lost a good bit of print business from me when they pulled their little stunt !

It's an "bent arrow" symbol in the bottom right legend of the picture you want to post.
You can truncate the long address they provide to eliminate the posting of your name, pik # and the Flikr reference.
And select the "BBC code" as already stated and the picture size.
I post the whole code here, then truncate it and preview it until it appears correctly.
You just have to use the "insert image data: format" (shown when you put your mouse cursor of the button) as a reference until you figure it out, slight learning curve.

I just keep my photos public, nothing sacred and it makes it easy to find. Just type sfceric64 in the search area and then select people and you can see all my photos.

FWIW, I use imgbb. Click on a photo, Click the "embed codes" button, choose the BBcode, click the copy button and paste it into the reply.

Ads on the login page, none after I login. No long running scripts, doesn't bring my 10 year old 'puter to its knees like photobucket.
