For your needs, I'd look for a HD ceramic magnet 10-inch. Much better bass, than the comparable alnico magnet type. Usually, much better efficiency. I'd look for a nice Weber 10F125 or 150.

I have no ceramic aftermarket speakers in any of my Princeton or PR amps. But, I use the 8F150 in my Champ and VC amps. Very good speaker.

Hey BMW2002Ti,
Did you need to do anything to make this speaker fit, as Webers site say "may have trouble fitting in some Blackface or Silverface champs due to the cap-can interfering with the speaker basket."
I do realize this is not a champ but a VC , as I am thinking about changing out the Original speaker in my 67 VC. One more question if I can, sound wise, what would it change, and is there a better choice, assuming the VC is yours, there most likely isn't a better choice

No, the 8F150 fits fine with the 20/20/20/20 at 475VDC rated CE cap can. Not sure if CE makes a triple-section 20/20/20 cap can. With the quad section, one 20mfd will not be used.

As there's no Weber stockists in Australia it limits my choices. There's plenty of Celestion stockists though. Any recommendations? And the Gold is out of my price range.

Let's try a different tack. What's your price range? And what's in the '68?

An old flat cone Alltone 30w. Price range is $150 AU more or less. For comparison Celestion Gold's are $350 AU.

Eminence Copperhead or Ragin' Cajun like Arjay said. I found one place in Adelaide http://www.ceceres.com.au/ $150 for copperhead 75 Watt. No idea what shipping would be. They didn't list anything for Ragin Cajun. They have the Lil Buddy 50 Watt for $165

My '61 Princeton has a '65 Jensen in it. I tried a Cannabis Rex in it which was louder, but I wanted something with more breakup. Tone is a subjective thing to try to put into words, so I won't do that here. I don't gig anymore.

Thanks, just had a bit of a revelation with this 78. Because I've been playing a 68 mostly 3 nights a week at open mikes for last 6 months , I was using this for comparison. So when I got use the 78 it immediatey wasn't as loud or rich or blah blah. And then it sounded like a kazoo on the second night so retired it. Then it came back to life after a week. Been playing it again tonight. Accidentally found out it just didn't like being over its limits. At living room levels it's the sweetest little thing delicate and pretty, with its own charm. I'm gonna leave it in and try to get it decent set up with a mike when out.

The little Princeton has had the amp guy go to town on it with new filter capacitor and valves and now runs clean and loud, sounds quite different to when I first got it. After all that, ended up fitting a Celestion Gold 10". Nice little robust unit now.

Give that Celestion Gold fifty or sixty hours of vigorous play and it'll really start to sing.
