Vintage VOX AC30's and compressors
Postby UKFenderbender » Sun May 06, 2018 2:31 pm

Hi Guys,

I have a 1964 Vox AC30 and a 1974 Vox AC30 Top Boost, and wish to play my 1989 Fender Stratocaster using a 2018 Guitar Compressor through them

Could this damage the amps as they are 40 & 50 years old, and the compressor technology was not around then

I would appreciate some advice on this issue.

Kindest Regards

UKFenderbender

The technology was around then. I remember trying a MXR Dynacomp mid 70's. Lowell George used a compressor extensively.

Never see a capacitor blow it's positive lead out against a ground and take out a power tranny secondary before the fuse blows?

Never and I repair lots of amps since ......

We could talk a lot about everything that can damage an amp but that's not the point here
