I'm stalling before heading to an amp tech, but I'll put this out there anyway:
My '64 PR stopped working yesterday quite suddenly. Thi smoring I swapped out the vq1 and v2 tubes for some older ones, and it worked - briefly. The stopped again. I can hear that the amp is on: there is a mild hum, and when I turn the vibrato controls, the hum modulates. The preamp and power amp tunes warm up and glow.
Any thoughts? When I retubed a few years ago, I didn't replace the rectifier tube.
I did not try swapping out the power tubes. Could one of them be bad, yet still glowing?
Thanks.

My advice............refrain from stalling and bring it to the doctor.
