Hey ya'll I'm wondering if I can use the channel jumping technique on a TR but run the jumped channel into a separate amp.

My idea for the setup would be guitar into Vibrato 1 and then run a cable from Vibrato 2 into a pedal board to another amp so I'd have a dry/wet amp combo.

Could this cause damage to either of the amps? Can't seem to find much info about this other than jumping channels within the same amp.

Thanks!

You won't hurt anything, but you may develop a ground loop hum when both amps are connected.
You may also notice a loss of brightness out of the guitar. Running multiple inputs loads down the pickups. A buffer gain pedal can give enough juice to run them all.

Tim,

When I've done this before... I noticed that the older amps, with only two-prong (non-polarize --- same sized prongs) can sometimes be "fixed" of ground loop. By switching the orientation of the plugs, into the wall outlets. Gotta experiment a little, but sometimes you can eliminate the ground loop hum/buzz. Works for stand-alone reverb units, too!

This can't be done with polarized two-prong (one prong larger than the other) or three-prong cords. :)
