I'm attempting to use a footswitch to disable the bypass cap on a 5F1 (sorta - kinda) amp. I used some bigger iron I've been saving for just such a project. I'm wondering if I should disconnect the + side or the - side of the cap with the FS, or does it even matter? I'll add a cap across the jack, .02 CD 1KV should be sufficient. Any ideas?

An SPST switch inline (series) with the cap (say to ground) would prolly work.

You may induce lot of noise with a FS

There's a volt or 2 dc on the cap. The switch will have a little pop.
If you parallel a 1 meg resistor across the switch, it won't pop.
