I just bought what was described as a 1981 Pro Reverb. It seems to be a transitional model with a silver face master volume style control layout, but with a black face. It's in beautiful condition.

The only issue seems to be when I use the vibrato, there is a soft, but quite audible, "putt, putt, putt, putt, putt" though the speakers according to the vibrato speed.

Does anyone know if this is as simple as a tube issue?
Thanks

It's been my experience that those metal tube covers (the proper
name is escaping me right now) do help out with the tube making good
contact and helps reduce unwanted noises in SOME circumstances.

Thanks, Miami Mike! (I'll be praying for you, man.)

But all of the aluminum tube covers are present and in place.
Any other ideas?

Thank you. You might want to try spraying the potentiometer (take off the knob) off the vibrato with de-oxit. It won't hurt and might help?
