This sounds like speaker issues. The cone is ok? No poked holes or tears? Dust trapped between speaker and baffle board? Maybe voice coil distortion, showing up in low notes and heavy chord application.

Did you try an external cab, as comparison? It could be the mounting onto the baffle board is causing distortion to the speaker's metal basket. Should be snug, but lightly secured with no forced tension, on the basket. Evenly torqued all around.

Good luck! :)

I'd rule out speaker issues, before driving into circuit surgery. That's my 2¢ worth of 2¢.

External Cab also tried, Closed back obviously sounds tighter but still nasty at Volume 4 and higher

What about pins 1 and 6 ? ; please finish test on V6 circuit

Power transformer could be the issue.[/quote]

After I pulled the resistors to test them (330K, 22K 680ohm) Now I start to get readings that are not with a -Minus.

Pin 1 284.6
Pin 2 46.96
Pin 3 61.44
Pin 6 284.1
Pin 7 48.69

So the red numbers are not correct? Latest values are good.

These are the reading off the 12AT7 phase inverter (V6)? Pins 2 and 7 are the signal grid and shouldn't be seeing much more than a few VDC, at idle. Looks like the coupling caps before the PI maybe bad. The 0.01mfd and the 0.1mfd caps just before each half of the 12AT7. May want to check them for VDC on the grid side of the caps.

Are these the Disc caps or the Blue bulgy ones?

Bad solder indeed, but the new numbers are obviously not correct

I wouldn't call it "bad" solder so much as aged solder. You might take a Weller pencil to each joint and re-flow them all.

While you're at it, take a *close* look at all the carbon-comp resistors -- check for flaking, cracking, or other signs of thermal damage and/or geriatric fatigue. Replace any that appear wonky.

The caps that have red arrows next to them. Measure VDC at green arrows.

You will need to pull one leg of each 330k-ohm resistor (orange-orange-yellow) tail of the PI (my photo has 1 meg-ohm resistors ---- (brown-black-green), as I reverted the circuit back to AB763). They are below the pink asterisks.

Have the screen and grid resistors been checked?
