i just picked up a 77 Deluxe reverb. Replaced all the 16UF Filter caps, Retubed power section and Im getting good bias at 25ma. The amp sounds (as it did prior) like its really flabby even with my newer fender speaker.

Its sounds ok up until 3, then falls apart sonically.

What Am I missing or what should i be checking?

Which "newer Fender speaker"?

The amp's OEM Oxford was nothing to write home about so just about anything would be an improvement from that.

Are you using the vibrato channel's "pull-boost" function?

If so, switch it off.

Do you have access to an external speaker cab? Just to rule out an issue with the new Celestion speaker. Run the cab from EXT SPKR connection. Disconnect the onboard one.

Far too high. You should be seeing a B+ of 412 to 420 VDC.

Pull the cover from the doghouse and check the power-rail resistors.
