Hey guys, I stumbled upon an odd piece of gear today. Someone's offering me what appears to be a BrownFace Bandmaster into a ''custom made'' cabinet. Thing is, the seller is 4 hours drive from my location so I asked a few pics before jumping in the car. Now, I had a 1964 Bandmaster and I currently own 3 1964 Bassman so I'm getting used to what they are supposed to look like (OT,PT, Choke...) but this one is a mystery. Schumacher Transfo are normally coded 606 but these codes are no where to be found on this one. Could this amp be from 1960-1961? Seller is asking $350 and I'll be willing to do so restoration to it. Any help would be really appreciated.

Need more data for a definitive analysis. The iron appears to be vintage but is not correct for a Bandmaster from any year.

How many pre-amp tubes?

The owner doesn't have a lot of infos. He bought it from a now deceased friend who found it in a flea market... I mostly wanted to check if anyone could put a brand on those transfo. I'll think I'll pass on it.

Stratele52, tu es de quel coin exactement?

Phil, welcome to the Forum! :)

Power tranny #352719 = Could be Essex Transformer (352), made prolly 19th week of 1957 (or could be 1967).

Output tranny #C512, could be a Baldwin product.

Neither one appears to have stock Fender part numbers (67233 for PT, 45217 for OPT).

D'accord! Non, pas encore. Toujours disponible mais je ne sais pas si j'ai envie de me relancer dans ce type de projet!

Thank you, I appreciate! I too thought the OT was a Baldwin. Anyway, I have a Vibrosonic Reverb in the target. I'll think I will keep my $ for this one!

Merci.
Le Lac St-Jean, c'est trop loin et je n'en ai pas besoin.
Ça aurait été un beau projet si plus près.

For $350 I'd be inclined to gamble......

Definitely looks Fender to me, pobably 1960, and they used to build amps from leftovers and what was left on the dusty bottom shelf. I grew up in Fullerton and had friends who worked there. Buy it.
