A little rougher shape than the Bronco, but nothing that cant be fixed up. I bid post auction and bought it for $500, thought that was a stupid price to pass up. It is missing the footswitch and the trem is not working but otherwise original w/ CTS alnico's.

+1

A righteous price indeed.

The trem should be an easy fix......likely a tired opto-isolator or a V5 tube that has exceeded its useful service life.

Haven't received it, should be here in 10-14 days. Yes and 500 is including the 25% premium.
There were some steals at this auction. I was actually trying to get a drip edge 68 vibrolux reverb but it exceeded my pockets by a single other bidder, I tapped out @ 1200 he got it for 13 and change. There were several blackface 64-67 amps that sold for well under their value and an early brown face or two.

From what I have seen, at 1300 the buyer got a good deal. Seems like it was a mighty fine auction you got involved in

Indeed! That's an auction I'd loved to have attended.

You could have been there, I was there entirely online. They usually have a couple auctions a year spring/fall. They try to time the spring session along w/ the Dallas guitar show, since they are HQ'd from Dallas. They have offices in Ca, Ny and a few smaller offices in Europe I believe. Here is a link to the auction site, there are still items available and the items from the last auction can be viewed. however you may not be able to see sales prices w/o creating an account.

Looks like the Beverly Hills location charges Calipornia state sales tax.

Screw that, I'm not giving those sanctuary snowflakes a dime!

I checked my receipts and purchased only 1 item from auction held in BH Ca. and was not charged a Ca. state sales tax. They may have specific items(coins for instance) stocked by each branch that sells like a store and are charging state taxes unless you are exempt as a retailer or such. Texas has no state taxes, not sure what other states have but understand its an upfront loss.
All things must be considered during bidding other than condition; premium, taxes and shipping/handling charges. Of course buying anything w/o putting your hands-on is a greater risk.
Doesn't hurt to look, no charge for attending the auctions or viewing lots online and you just might find something you have been looking for.
Personally I detest the buyers premium rate, but then everyone seems to keep there bidding inline most of the time. And I would have to say they aren't great at representing the most accurate information, at least w/ respect to musical instruments. The two pictures they post per item are minimal at best but are at least zoom enabled.
I've never attended one of there auctions in person, they may or may not allow opening/playing.

Thanks for the link and congrats on a great amp. A righteous score for that money!

Thanks

Still waiting on the amps to arrive. I'll probably work on the Bronco 1st but will shoot pics of both when they arrive.
I did pick up a few tubes on Ebay for the Super; 1x RCA 5u4gb and 3x RCA black plate 6l6gc's (a pair w/ D getters and a single w/ side O getter). Having never had a 6l6 amp it was a bit of a learning curve between the types and I inadvertently bought a TungSol 6l6gb w/ the batch of RCA's w/o realizing it was a GB. Fortunately the RCA's look promising as NOS, the two D getter pair are date matched and the price was really good if the tubes work out.

Hold onto that orphan Tung-Sol, they're very good tubes. And another one might pop up some time.

Well all things considered I decided to give this the initial look and take some pics this afternoon.
All the iron looks G-G(PT022798/606110, Choke022699/606123, OT02855/606047, RVB022921/606109) as do the speakers(numbers matched 064121/137-7131).
The upper panel is cracked, the left 1/4" panel board is split.
The reverb tank is a Gibbs#64063-401, dunno about this being original and the bag is torn from the screws.
Reverb cable RCA connections are really loose, probably not making good contact.
Came w/ a variety of tubes:
V1- EH12ax7a
V2- RCA 7025
V3- RCA 12at7
V4- mojotone 12ax7a likely reflector w/ duo square getters and triple mica
V5- no label 12ax7a likely same as above(dropped and broke)
V6- RCA 12at7
V7/8- Phillips ECG 7581a dtd 8552
V9- RCA 5u4gb single side getter, has some debris inside

A few pics:

The electrolytic caps looked like they were all replaced. Including the bypass. Seems to still have BALANCE POT. You may want to think about changing this to a BIAS POT.

I think I have J Castillo's stamp on my 1972 Vibrolux Reverb. Will need to check it out.

Nice grab. How's the tone?
