Hi, I'm new here. So sorry if asked before.
I bought a 1979 SFVR. (Serial #F9 +5 digits). I'm afraid I have to do some work on it, but can't find a schematic. It should be an AA270, shouldn't it? But all the schematics I have seen don't have the boost function (push/pull and an extra jack for the boost switch on the rear panel).
I realy appreciate any help.

Thx

Yes, I believe that you'd have an AA270 circuit.

More about this silverface VLR. Yours in most likely a boost volume pedal edition.

I have a 1971 model of this amp. Very nice amp, indeed.

You may find the schematic for a 1979 Deluxe Reverb useful -- it too has the pull/boost volume control on the front panel (vibrato channel only) and a jack for a footswitch at the rear. The pre-amp largely shares most of its architecture with the Vibrolux Reverb except it lacks the bright switches. The power-amp stage too is quite similar in general layout with the type of power tubes being the principal difference.

Do you have any photos of the amp? Esp the circuitry. I reverted mine back to bias pot (from balance pot). Semi back to AA964 circuit. I left the phase inverter wired to AA270 specs. Changed 'lytics.

Hi BMW,

I have photos. It's all stock. Even the caps are all stock :).
Funny, I did the same thing with the bias pot. Gives me about - 50V grid, and 40mA on the tubes. 440V anode.

BTW: How to upload photos from my PC, not via URL?

Thx
Heinz

To post a photo. Go to Photobucket. Or some online site to share media. Upload your photos.

For Photobucket:

1.) Click onto photo you wish to post. See "Links to Share The Photo" on the right side?

2.) Now, scroll over the IMG address window.

3.) Left click onto address window.

4.) It will say: "Copied"

5.) Now, paste the copied IMG address into the window of this Forum.

FYI.. Photobucket seems to be down, at the moment. :(

The CTS speakers date to the 24th week of 1980. If original to the amp, that makes it an '80 model.

Amp seems to be in nice shape. Congrats! Be nice to see caps under the doghouse.

I'll post my VLR, as soon as Photobucket gets back up & running.

It does *NOT*.

--------------------------

1970-1989 -Most amps do not have a date code stamped on the tube location chart. These codes are for amps with the serial number beginning with a letter:

B+5---digits - 1975-1976
A6+5-digits - 1976
A7+5-digits - 1977
A8+5-digits - 1978
A9+5-digits - 1979
F0+5--digits - 1980
F1+5--digits - 1981
F2+5-digits - 1982/83
F3+5-digits - 1983/84
F4+5-digits - 1984/85
F9+5-digits - 1979-1980
