Hello all.
I am trying to properly identify my Pro Reverb so I can correctly price it for re-sale. I have owned this amp for close to 30 years and it was bought from a pawn shop back in the day. Last year I had some work done on it and although it sounds great it is too much amp for what I need these days (It is ungodly loud). It is a Silverface with the drip edge.
The tube chart inside the amp begins with a GZ34 tube and the amp has the following code stamped on the chassis (A 12916) which some information I have found online says it is a 1969. I have also seen conflicting information that says if the amp has a drip-edge it could be from 1968.

I would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks in advance!

Photos of amp exterior and interior would help. Usual photos of circuit, stamped ID numbers on transformers, tube chart, speaker codes... etc.

:)

Sounds good. I will dig out the camera tomorrow and get some pictures.

Thanks for the reply.

The serial number says it's a '69 model but it's also close to a cross-over point as regard to model years.

Look inside the chassis -- adjacent to the power transformer you should find an date ink-stamped build date formatted with a letter and six digits. The last two numbers are the year while the middle pair represent the week within that year. EIA tranny codes can also be used to approximate the vintage, assuming that all of the iron is original to the amp.

It's a silverface.

The tube chart is worthless for dating purposes.

Ok. I went poking around inside the chassis with my camera.

I created a public Google.Doc with all the images. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ocf ... sp=sharing
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OcfpjOjmJPj1Uh1KY1d0QxZSpcvwdmgkgyStuPstFhQ/edit?usp=sharing

I did not see any ink stamp on the metal housing near the transformers.

Thanks again for everyone's input and help.

Early 1969, AB668 circuit revision.

The speakers are not original to the amp -- the 12T6-10 was installed in Twin Reverbs and Bassmans (the latter up through model year 1968).

Great information! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Now I have to figure out an asking price and best way to advertise it for sale.

If anyone has input on this feel free to chime in.

Take a look at completed sales on Ebay for vintage Pro Reverb Amps then price yours accordingly.
