So I've picked up this boat anchor amp that sounds phenomenal however as the title of the post suggests the Reverb is not functioning.

I have changed v3 & v5

I have swapped in a smaller tank and cable from my little Ampeg amp and still no reverb.
I have also looked at the tube socket soldering on the Reverb drive and its companion.

Can someone point me into the right direction on what to check next on the board? Resistor, choke etc.

Thanks
Ry

V3 and V4 are, respectively, the driver and recovery stage for the reverb.

Try disconnecting the reverb/tremolo foot switch. The way most Fender amps work, you don't need the pedal for the reverb to work. If it works --- you have defective switch.

Good luck!

Unless the Ampeg tank's grounding scheme is identical to the Fender tank, you won't have any reverb. Which, in essence, means that the Fender tank might still be the culprit. You need to perform a continuity check on it and everything else in the reverb circuit, to include the cables and the footswitch.

Footswitch not the problem.

Tried my fender tank from my other fender and still no go. Also when I move the amp the tanks spring are "jangling" but not in the signal as I play.

Did you check the continuity of the tank with a meter?

Rverb recovery circuit look working ,not reverb send ;

Reverb tank input issue or reverb send amp circuit issue ?

Listen to Retroverbial , read DC resistance

My spair Reverb tank for Fender amps ; 4AB3C1B
Output RCA connector ; 244 ohms
Input RCA connector ; 1.1 ohms

Accutronic chart, below ; out ; 200 ohms
in ; 0.8 ohms

Grounding issue? Also, is there any "crackling" or spring noise when you turn the reverb up?

Did you verify that the reverb cables are plugged in to their perspective jacks? Just thought I'd throw that out there since it hasn't been mentioned.
Good luck with the repair.

+1

Also a possibility.

Good call!
