I picked this up a while back, it started to develop noises, so I took the guy another amp last year to play through. He needed some money, and finally sold me the thing.
79 UL with international PT. It is a future project, but I took the speakers out and boxed them up for now. They were stuck to the baffle, I finally got them loose with a feeler gauge, and a small pry.
As you can see the cab is shot, and the baffle cracked, It will be in a head cab when I get to it.

Good luck with the fix. Love the Blue Point/Snap-on tools!

Note the 350-watt power consumption -- a standard non-UL TR draws only 260 watts.

This chassis is one serious brute of an amp!

I'd hard-wire that power tranny's primary for normal 120 VAC operation, remove the variable voltage selector, then install a conventional 3-conductor AC convenience outlet in its stead.

Really good idea to separate the head & cab....given the cabs condition and the overall weight. That is one big chunk of iron!!!

Arjay, I've looked a little into finding a domestic PT, but haven't found one. This old thing has been well used, and the chassis is even bent where the PT mounts!

Heavy isn't the correct word for this beast, but even a year ago, it really sounded sweet!

I guess you all noticed we mechanics use the tools at hand!

You got that right.

My UL Bassman 135 head weighs as much as two Bandmaster heads!

A monster amp for sure. Congrats! Been a while since we had a refurb on here. Good luck with this Bill.

Mate that chassis with a Showman tone-ring cab and it would make for one helluva potent pedal-steel rig!

Arjay, I'm going to build a tone ring cab for the Bassman project, (I may use the G series JBL I have), and when I get back to the Twin project, I'll try it. I also have a K130 put up that should be great for guitar or steel!
I do still plan to put the D120s in a 2-12 cab.
