Hello to all
I would like to ask a question about Fender bassman 135 Output Transformer
I've to change my OT, but where to find a good replacement? The serial on the OT should be 013691 (2Kohm ultralinear 4 and 8 ohm tap).
Moreover I've have to change the big electrolitics caps under the metal shield what are the best suitable substitutes?

Thank you very much

Are you sure Output Transformer are bad ?

If yes you have to find why , to not burn the new one

You can put 1750WR Hammond transformer, good Canadian Made vintage transformer;

Antique Electronic sell hammond too;

Filter caps ; use only good quality like F & T and Sprague Atom caps.

You may not need to replace filter caps if amp work fine.
It is not because amp is old, it need new filter caps.
Fresh filter caps may help if you use amp at very high volume ( 75% power output and more) With à 135 watts amp, sure you won't.

Youll' read different opinion :lol:

Post pictures of your amp and filter caps. We like picture

Au contraire, mon amí.

If used as a bass amp, you surely *WILL*.

In the four-string world, 135 watts is nothing.

The Hammond 1750 is your best bet for getting near-original iron back into that amp and the F&T caps will deliver a decade or more of reliable performance. If you find need of new power tubes, I recommend the Tung-Sol STR's for any ultra-linear Fender platform. Buy them as a matched quartet and bias them accordingly.

You're welcome. I've had a 1980 Bassman 135 for several years now and it's been a pretty reliable amp. I don't have the original speaker cab though -- I run it through a '74 Bandmaster cab into which I installed a pair of 12-inch Eminence bass drivers. Not a great rig but adequate for my music room when friends come over to jam.
