No, but generally, this doesn't work that great on Fenders that are not tweed, because the Normal and Vibrato channels are out-of-phase, so you will find spots on the volume controls where the volume starts to drop out as frequencies get canceled. It's worth doing as a learning experience.

Not true.

Channels will be out of phase only with the reverb-equipped amps. Jumping channels with a Showman, Bandmaster, Tremolux, etc is fine and the tremolo is operable when switched on.

thanks to both of you, i always find it amazing that people give up their time to help complete strangers:)

im buying a 64 tremolux and wanted to make sure jumping the channels didnt mean the tremolo no longer worked. ive also heard people put effects between the jumped channels, reverb etc and that it sounds great, i guess one could also put a volume control ( a boost pedal that allows negative values or a compressor with a level control)in the 'jump' to act as a sort of master volume from the normal channel, or is that crazy?

I don't think that's crazy at all. However, you might find that accessing both channels of the amp via an A/B/Y switch provides even more sonic options. I've been doing that for about twelve years now.

BTW, we'll be needing to see pics of the new Tremolux. We haven't had any amp porn here for almost a month!
