I have a 79" Pro Reverb that has a broken reverb tank. I know someone that has a tank from a PA-100 it's the same length and 2 spring. Will it work in the Pro Reverb? Thanks, Chris

Short answer, probably.

Give it a try. There'll be no harm if it doesn't work.

Will the difference of 2 vs. 3 spring make a big sonic difference? Will be watching this one with much interest.

I'm not certain that the amp's original tank was a 3-spring unit.

Oh...I was under the impression that the larger amps like Twins and Pro's had three spring pans. Thought I read that somewhere. Be curious to know.

The PA-100 is a close cousin to the Twin Reverb using a type 4A 2 spring reverb unit. The only difference is that it's mounted behind the front panel, not on the bottom. My tech said it should be OK. I have one coming and will let you know. Most large Fender amps used the accutronics 4AB3C1B reverb tank. I'll keep you posted. C

+1

That's what's in my '78 Twin Reverb.

I think the 3-spring tanks first appeared around '82, just after Rivera joined Fender's amp division.
