I know it's not me. My oldest is a '66 Deluxe Reverb.

What say you?

My 62 Concert and 67 Bandmaster....original owner. Oh, and my FR1000 reverb, sitting on-top of the Concert, bought it around 67.

I have one from 1945, but it isn't finished yet, not working condition, so I wont count it.

Did own a Model 26 (1947) a long time ago. Think I traded it for some guitar, I no longer have. Should have kept that amp...

+1!

I've heard some great tones from a Model 26, similar in some respects to the revered 5E3 Deluxe.

Wasn't the Model 26 called the "Model 26 Deluxe"? Seems I remember reading that, in the Soul of Tone maybe?

The schematic is marked "Fender Deluxe" and "Model 26" but the amp's control panel merely reads "Model 26". I suppose either nomenclature can be considered accurate.

Definitely not the winner here, but I own this '68 Silverface Super Reverb. Great amp.

Are you certain that it's a '68?

My first new Fender amp was a late '67 Super Reverb and it looked exactly like that (built in August of that year).

Very nice!

Sorry about the late reply, I just saw this now. But the store I bought it from said it is a '68. I want to say they dated it to March, '68. It has a GZ34 rectifier tube and I'm nearly positive it is the AB763 (blackface) circuit as well, and your '67 certainly was. My goal for next year is to get it retubed with some NOS tubes (ideally RCA black plates but if I get a deal on some GE's I might take it too) while getting it recapped appropriately and some slightly scratchy pots cleaned or replaced. I am not sure what's in it now, but I am fairly sure it's not been serviced in a while as some of the pots are a little scratchy, so as it sounds good now, just wait until I get it serviced with some NOS tubes.

The Super Reverb metastasized into the AB568 revision in May of '68 so as long as your amp was built prior to the 17th week of that year then a safe bet makes it the preferred AB763 circuit.

Vintage GE's are great tubes, as are the JAN Sylvania's and Westinghouse's. All three will deliver what your amp was designed for but with significantly less fiscal penalty than the holy grail RCA's.
