I just picked up an old DRii, but the reverb is not quite as full as I was hoping. I took a look at the tank and it has been replaced with an unmarked tank. I want to get a replacement, but I don't know which model tank to get. Does anyone know the Accutronics reverb tank model number for a Rivera era Deluxe Reverb ii? I did some searching on the web and have only been able to find specs for a Deluxe not a Deluxe ii...
Thanks!

All of Fender's tube amps from that era *probably* used the same tank. Thus if you happen across the specs for any of the "II" series amps, you may find the info you need.

As well, if "T2Stratman" happens to wander by, he might be able to provide some insight -- he has an early '80s Concert amp that might use the same tank. Ask him to check its P/N.

Thanks for the info. The II series I found take a 4ab3c1b tank. I'm going to order one of the MOD tanks and give it a try.

The only other thing I want to hunt down now is a new faceplate. I can't find II series faceplates anywhere.

You have the correct stock reverb tank #. A couple things about the amp though. I have a friend who has your amp (and I have the Concert II from '84) and I must admit the reverb is good on the clean channel, not the full on splash of say of an old Super Reverb but good. The reverb on the gain channel is a bit more subtle, not sure if it is the gain coming on that overcomes the reverb or what, but not as strong as the clean channel.

IIRC the Deluxe II is actually based more on the Princeton Reverb II (a two channel PR II basically) of that era than the Concert II so that may make a difference too.

I recommend replacing the 12AX7 (Driver) 12AT7 (Recorvery) with good US NOS tubes before you replace the pan, less expensive way to find out if it is the pan or not. I say this because when the reverb of my Concert II was getting a little weak, I had it serviced and replaced all my pre-amp tubes with NOS US tubes and it definitely increased the reverb's strength on the gain channel (and the clean channel as well).

And lastly did it come with the correct footswitch (P/N 017007) as it came with a special pedal that engaged the reverb and brought on the lead (Gain Boost).

Here is the schematic for it in case you need it.

Thanks for the info guys! Yeah I'll definitely be packing a lunch haha I'm sure it'll be a while before I come across one. I'll keep an eye out on eBay, but I doubt one will pop up anytime soon. I'll have to look into making one or ordering a custome made one.

I think I have a few good preamp tubes lying around. I'll put test them on the tube tester and give those a try before ordering anything. Unfortunately it did not come with a foot switch, but I'm pretty stuck on the clean channel at the moment. Maybe I'll try making one once I start playing the overdrive channel more. I'll keep that schematic close by though, thank you!

You'll need to get the footswitch to control the reverb (Works on both channels) and for channel switching. The footswitch is not cheap though. The gain channel is pretty decent and not that gainy at all and once you get it dialed in, has some great tones to it. I have had my Concert since new in 84 and it has logged many a gig and is the 2x10 version and it has always been reliable.

Good luck with finding that faceplate.
