Wow!

Hopefully the new business they referred will maintain the same level of professionalism, service and the use of high quality parts. Not to mention a pretty fast turn around time. Only one way to find out........anyone have a blown speaker? :D

You're closest so you get to be the guinea pig.

That is a shame as I only heard good things on their repairs. I do hope this new company sells parts as I do most of my speaker repair myself, and have used Orange for parts. There are others out there, but Orange usually had everything needed. Years ago when I was working for this particular sound company we were Apogee dealers and I became the only authorized East Coast U.S. reconer, Apogge no longer makes speakers

Mud, if you're on the east coast you might want to give Dusty's Speaker Reconing up in Connecticut a try. He's done several jobs for me (including JBL's) and they've all turned out swell.

Thanks for the tip I will check him out, as sometimes getting all the recone parts and DIY is not much less than having the job done by the same company that sells the parts

Dusty also does cosmetic restorations (if requested). That's a total strip of the basket and magnet structure, repainting in factory-correct colors, and new repro decals where appropriate. He's very conscientious about his work.
