I just bought what I believe is a '77 Twin. It has the master volume with push/pull gain.
The transformer codes all have 7 for the year. However the chassis code points to '74.
Is one more accurate than the other?

Here are all the codes I got off the transformers and chassis.

EIA-606-723
LO22756
USA 627

022699
EIA 606--735

022921
EIA--606715

Chassis a740625

Any help is appreciated!

A amp can't be older than is newer parts
A 1974 made chassis with 1977 transformer can't be a 1974 amp if all are original.

Ignore the serial number -- it generally cannot be trusted to determine when a particular amp was built. Specific tranny codes are more reliable and can usually narrow the build window to within a couple of months within a given year, just as Stratele has indicated.

In this instance, a 1 meg audio-taper pot made by Stackpole during the 17th week of 1966.

It is not the case here but a 1978 pot = 1978 amp
