Only played this amp a few times since adding 2 NOS RCA blackplate 6v6GT's.Played about an hour today, went to put the standby switch on and noticed they are glowing blue! The amp sounds beautiful, and they only glow while the amp is on ready to play, if you put the standby on, the blue cast goes away.
Is this a problem? never seen this before.Image

There is no problem -- enjoy the amp.

Thanks Arjay, I just googled and seems good quality power tubes with a good vacuum can glow blue, it scared me the amp sounds so good I was afraid there was an issue.

I've never seen this before, with the back panel on the whole inside had a cool blue glow, much more than my pic shows.

The first time I noticed it was sometime in 1967 at Winterland in SF. I'd managed to sneak behind the stage during a Jefferson Airplane show and watched this phenomenon from Jack Cassady's phalanx of Dual Showman heads (about six of them IIRC) in amazement. It looked like a platoon of dancing psychedelic smurfs. Damned good weed that night......

It was quite the show -- Airplane headlined (of course), with The Chambers Brothers and Quicksilver Messenger Service as the warm-up acts. All this for the paltry sum of $6.50.
