8) Help with adding speaker out jack on back of Old Champ Amp?
I am looking for a wiring diagram for adding a line out for a speaker extension out put, on a old Fender Champ amp.
The jack it self is already on the back of the amp. I am looking for help on how to make the speaker that is already there cut out when extension is plug in :?:

[/Thanks in advance!!!size]

Once you add the extension cab, do you think you'll ever use the 8-inch speaker in the cab, again? If not, just pull the RCA plug going to the OEM speaker. Get a speaker extension cord with male RCA connector on one end. 1/4-inch plug on the other end, for the cab.

+1

Or conversely, replace the RCA phono jack with a ¼" phone jack.

The single-ended Champ requires a 4Ω speaker load so plan your alternate extension system accordingly.

There are a few versions of the Champ.
The most sought after is the 5F1 model.
Here are some schematics for that: http://myfenderchamp.com/2010/03/29/fender-champ-5f1-wiring-diagram/

But the others bring up a lot of excellent points.

So which Champ do you have?

Photos are also helpful if you need help determining which model it is.
They are also real purty in a thread like this. :D

If it is tweed or blackface, you might want to find something else to modify! Hate to see anyone mod a great old amp like that! YMMV.

I had planed on coming off of the RCA and run a line to what is already a 1/4 output jack, that has no wires running to it now. I wanted to figure out how to wire the extension so that it shorts the OEM out and returns once the extension is unplugged. (Thanks)
