'57 Fender Deluxe reissue, correct? Yes, it is cathode-biased, Class "A" push-pull. No need to rebias, as long as the plate voltage and cathode tied resistor is within nominal range.

Yes.

Perhaps you should've reminded me that these were going into a 5E3.

yep, sorry Arjay I should have mentioned they were for the 5E3. Why is the the greyplate I've shown next to one of the blackplates so different in construction, by looking at them side by side you would think they were by different manufacturers ?

No sweat. But I have six or seven amp-consulting projects in progress at the moment and at my age I need every post-it note I can get to help me keep them all sorted.

Gave these new tubes a try in the 5E3 today, very impressed, the old 6v6gt's were given to me a few years ago and I do not have a tube tester, so given these are NOS right out of the box there was a dramatic difference. Not sure if it's because these are blackplates or because they are new, or both.
There seems to be a increase in volume, punch and clarity IMHO.I really like them.Image

I can't see anything in need of change at this point. It looks perfect IMO.
