Well, did win the bid for 1955 Tweed Champ. Guess the Deluxe tube chart, Lupe's tag, and the tone sample sold me. Kinda completes my Champ collection. Woody era, tweed 5E1, tweed DIY 5F1, BF Vibro Champ. And the Bronco.

That big red Astron cap being used for the "death cap" function and those great yellow caps! The "395" speaker code is a Permaflux of Chicago, I believe. Supposedly better than Cleveland speakers often use in these small amps, during this era.

Post photos, when I get the little noise-maker.

BTW... have any of you have trouble uploading photos to Photobucket, lately? Very laggy and has been bumping me off the site.

Photobucket has been a little wonky of late.

Nice score!

Congrats! sounds great! I guess my eye for good amps is getting better, the other night while cruising for Ebay finds I picked that one out, I was tempted to bid on it. The Deluxe label stood out when I saw your post, looks like a great tweed Champ example, what if anything are you going to change on it?

Thanks!

I'll check the amp out, when I get it. Prolly just R&R the electrolytic caps. Will post.

Anyone here recommend a nice way to restore the tweed on this amp? I do not want to re-tweed it. As it is completely OEM original. But, like to rejuvenate the cab --- to halt some of the aging process.

Thanks!

A gentle cleaning is the best you can hope for.

It looks like the grill cloth has been replaced at some point.

Thanks, Arjay.

Are there any treatments of tweed, like Lexol for leather? To help keep the tweed from drying out.

Probably but that tweed linen has been lacquered -- it's difficult for any type of treatment or magic elixir to penetrate in order to re-hydrate the material.

Very nice score Beemer! BUT you tease us with saying you completed your collection and then not a single pic of the family? Shame, shame!
