Here are a few more with and without its bretheren.

This amp is dead quiet, the reverb is deep, and the vibrato has a great pulse...but it does have a slight tick when engaged. Will have to look into that. I played it for about a 1/2 hour and I must say, it does have a sweet tone.

Thanks to everyone with all their help and advice. My son is happy although we thought this one would take longer than it did. We are already talking that next winters project MUST be a tweed champ kit! Let the research and decision start.

Nice job it does look sexy. I have that grill cloth on my 69, although my cabinet is nude as I do like sport-in wood, and the pine with a nice shellac gives it a warm feel, and it sure looks good on my Hardwood floors, with my birch doors, and clear as it comes pine trim of my house.

It's DIY refurbs like these which keep the Fender legend alive.

Thanks mud! That amp of yours sounds like it would be a real beauty and sits in a cool location.

I certainly enjoyed doing this refurb, but never thought about it becoming part of the keeping the Fender Legend alive...Not sure my meager attempts can live up to that. Now Arjays recreations would qualify and maybe someday I can approach that level. Until I build my own cab, tolex it, and create something Sam Hutton and Leo would proud of, I am just a novice who enjoys the project. Thanks just the same and the compliment means alot.

Au contraire, airman.

If not for you, where would that amp be?

Languishing in some dank, dark basement -- its owner ashamed of its very existence as the poor chassis continues to deteriorate, locked in its hideous head cabinet as each neglectful year passes.

You saved that amp, Tony. You, and you alone. Now it will once again belch the legendary Fender fire and brimstone from its soul, just as The Almighty Leonidas intended.

Hand salute!

Thanks...and this puppy does belch that Fender Tone in spades! When I dig into it with a Strat it does have the snap that Fenders are famous for! I must admit it does feel good to refurb an amp that was to say the least abused! Consider the Salute returned!
