Very cool find and for the money, maybe the best starting point. Those parts pics are certainly screaming put me together.

Bargains like these are still out there -- it just takes some diligence and perseverance to sniff them out.

You preaching to the choir! I am having to force myself to take my time and do it right.

Tonight I am going to try and measure out and mount the tilt back legs, set the chassis points for mounting, get the front logo mounted, mount the reverb pan and install the speakers, and then lastly pull the face plate off tonight and prep it for the BF replacement.

Hopefully that is not too ambitious, will have to see how far down that list I get.

Question for Arjay...you recommended wiring the speakers in series correct?

Assuming each speaker's coil is 8 ohms, the preferred wiring configuration would be a parallel arrangement. That will create a 100% mismatched 4Ω load, well within the operating parameter of the Super Reverb's 2Ω output tranny.

One caveat......I would not push that amp's throttle into "zone 5" too often. Those vintage C12Q's are only rated for 25 watts apiece. Even with the mismatched impedance and reduced operating efficiency of the amp, caution should be the operative word. I'd hate to see them end up fried.

Missed grabbing that pebble again...grasshopper is humbled. Yes the C12Qs are 8 ohms and parallel it is. I don't expect this amp will get dimmed ever, more looking for the verb and clean tones out of it.

Well as it turns out I may have been a bit to ambitious. I did get the tilt back legs attached (and even, whoo hoo!) and the Logo attached. Was hoping to get everything attached to the cab tonight, but after a long day at work it was not to be. Well enjoy the short update...I got plenty more time this weekend and the new BF face plate arrived so it is all just installation from here on out.

Did the tube chart that I put together work out okay?

Sure did and it is much appreciated. I printed a test one out to see how it would look and it is perfect. Going to grab some correct type paper (as close as I can get) get it printed out and glued in.

A bit of progress today. Test fitted the chassis and drilled the cab for mounting. Successfully removed the face plate and have fitted the new BF one.

Chassis has now been completed and installed into the cabinet. Took the better part of the afternoon.

Next up is finishing the wiring harness for the speakers. Once complete the speaker and reverb pan install should rap up this project. So far this has been a real fun one, even though it has taken a bit longer than I thought it would. Enjoy the pics I think my choices of color combination has worked out pretty good, and I am happy with the way it has turned out.

T2,

The amp is really looking good! I love those old blonde amps with the dark grill cloth. Yours is going to be a looker, gonna look like a brand new "old amp".

Suggestion: Order a new set of knobs to spiff up that vibrato channel's optics.

Looking pretty good thus far.

Yep sure am! My son said the same thing. He was going through my amp parts bin and when he found the four new knobs I already had, he said I should put them on...then he said, now we need five more new ones! And you are both right!

Will pick some up!
