Does anyone have ideas why a 77 Silverface Princeton Reverb amp would have break up at low volumes when we just installed a new Weber 10F150 Vintage Series Ferromax 10" speaker in it?

Is this normal behavior or might we have done something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Is the speaker of the correct 8-ohm impedance?

Correct, it is a 10F150, not the "150T".

Yes, it is 8 Ohm as showing on the speaker markings.

The amp was not breaking earlier with the speaker it had before ?

Early breakup or kind of "distortion " may come from tubes or defective resistors in Phase Inverter circuit

No, the amp was NOT breaking earlier with the other speaker.

Putting the original speaker back in and the early breakup is not there.

It comes from the Weber speaker .

Speaker defective ? Ask to Weber .

Did you breaking speaker gently first hours you play the amp ?

Thanks for your feedback/questions.

Yes, the speaker was played gently and never above low volume.

Just out of curiosity, what speaker was it running before you replaced it? I ask because it just may "seem" to break up earlier in comparison to say a higher wattage rated speaker that's more efficient.
