Hi

Am new here. I've just bought a new American Standard Jaguar Bass in 3 Tone Sunburst, after part-exing my old Mexican Jazz. It's beautiful.

I am slightly confused by the switch positions on the lower horn. I can get all different sounds (Bridge Only, Fret Only, Both Parallel, Both Serial, Both Off), but the switch positioning is different to what I thought it would be after searching the Web, and critically, it's different to my friend's CIJ Jazz Bass!

So, has my Jag been wired incorrectly, or have Fender changed the wiring for the AS? Is there anyone here who has an American Standard Jaguar Bass so I compare the positions? I just want to know if this is anything I need to worry about.

I have found a wiring diagram here (http://support.fender.com/service_diagrams/jaguar/025-9505B_SISD.pdf), but it's clearly for a MIM or CIJ, because it shows two J pickups instead of the P/J on the AS. Nevertheless, I have reverse-engineered this diagram and confirmed that it matches the behaviour of my friend's CIJ, but not my AS.

Here is my comparison of what my AS Jag is doing, vs what I think what a CIJ would do.

Any advice appreciated... thanks!

Huh. It took me a while but I just managed to Google an answer to my dilemma.

Shame it wasn't in the case when I bought it! Never mind. I'll leave it here in case anyone else is similarly Google-challenged.

Cheers
