On anecdotal evidence, the Jaguar bass doesn't get as much love as the Jazz and P-Basses

None-the-less, the Jaguar seems to be a pretty cool base, with possibly better specs than the other AM Std basses (even as the CIJ Jaguar):
- P-J pups
- active / passive
- series / parallel
- very fast neck
- a lot of tone variety.

Has anyone any thoughts on why the Jaguar is neglected?

Cheers

I'd love to have one, but alas, just like the Dimension there aren't any lefties.

I had a CIJ Jaguar once.

The biggest issue was that it had really bad neck drop, so bad I got rid of it. To be fair though, I have never head this is the issue.

Apart from that, it was a sweet bass - ridiculously fast to play (with flats), great tone ranges.

I'd love a dimension as well, but I might go the Jaguar.

I have to say that I like the looks of that US made Jaguar, but I currently don't have the US made budget to buy one. :P Besides, it would have to stand in line for other GAS related items I've had in mind beforehand. Still, I love the style, so you never know what can happen.

I've played these but never owned one, short scale versions. The only drawback I found is the same one I have with my Musicmasters, the neck drop.

Other than that, I'm all about singing the praises for something other than the usual basses.

I am another cheesehead that enjoys the Jag, in principle, and I have a couple hours in on the AmStd. It plays very nicely. In reality, I like simple. I would not buy one, as my P and J basses are just fine. As a collector, I think this might be a good investment. That is just a gut feeling, no science, and only time will tell. But again, at my age, it will never be worth more than I would pay, unless I live to mythological ages, so it is doubtful I will ever buy one.

If I were a young player, I would snap it up. It does a lot very well, and I think it is a great "one bass" situation. Plus, if you are in your twenties or thirties, I really do think this this has a down the road ROI way positive. Again, just my opinion.
