They're not on the product list. I don't play a lot of bass, but I think they look great - a lot like my old Baldwin Vibraslim guitar. If they're going I wish I could grab one before they're gone....

Go to the product page and type in Starcaster Bass in search and it comes right up.

This model is currently phased out to leave much needed room for a fresh bunch of guitars and basses.

I have played one.

I have to say, if the Starcaster goes, then the music world will not mourn the loss.

Are you certain about this? It's still on the Fender website and listed with the usual online retailers.

Yeah, American Musical Supply still has them, and they would be discounted if they were going to stop selling them to get rid of the stock. At least, that's what they usually do.

+1

Nobody shed a tear when they died the first time, back in the '70s.

But they didn't have basses back in the 70's! :D

That being said, I just sold my Starcaster bass because it was heavy and uncomfortable. :(

Really......?

I'm going to direct your attention to page 28 of Fender's full-product catalog from 1970.

There, in all its glory, you'll find a Coronado Bass II in the Antigua finish.

Yes, they had Coronado basses, but the Starcaster bass only existed as a prototype until 2013.

I will agree that no one shed a tear when the Coronado Bass was discontinued. I remember back in the 80's when a red one sat in a local music store for months and was finally sold for a paltry sum. If only we had known how collectible they would become.
