New Fender Standard Dimension just announced at NAMM! Here's Mike Brown playing one through a Rumble 500, and of course it sounds great.

Sure - I am looking forward to getting mine, if Fender ever delivers it.

Fender seems to be really expanding the D-Bass range. The D-Bass is either doing really well or it is a last "hurrah" before giving up on it.

SUPER EXPANSION!
From the American Deluxe to the American Standard, and now a made in Mexico Standard, and also two new Squier 4 and 5 string Dimensions.

That tells me that the Dimension design platform is well received and in high demand!

Plus the original Modern Player Dimension is still available too.

Now for a lefty!

I hope they do make a lefty.

Barring the the neck dive potential, I think the D-Bass is going to be a great bass.

Why not an American Standard fretless 4 with 21 fretlines and a fretted 2-octave American Deluxe 6 with three humbuckers and 4+2 tuners a la Steve Bailey :?:

Yup...
The "D" Series bass are very attractive. I think that "Deluxe" model with the "Cayenne Burst" finish is gorgeous!!
The "Modern Player", with the "triplebucker" and 5-way rotary switch sounds [b]tuff[b]. The 1.5 nut width suits me as well. This model is wallet friendly too!!

Indeed, the Modern Player Dimension is totally unique. You never know how long this one will remain in Fender's Bass Arsenal.

I actually liked the idea they had with the Modern Player version with the triple coil humbucker thing they had going, or whatever the hell that is. I don't know why they decided to not use that and just went with a regular pick up with no switching option, at least on the standard model. I liked what I heard in the demo with that one with the switching and really came close to buying one at the time. It looks like they still make it, or it's still listed on the site, but who know for how long?

Yeah, it's been a problem, especially after this year's NAMM. :P

I have a Fender American Deluxe Dimension Bass IV. Its a a great Bass, 5 way selector carry wide range of sound variety, tone is quiet close to Musicman Stingray, including Jazz and Precision. Fret Board is very smooth and comfortable. Surprisingly Light weight and small body comparing to my Musicman Stingray Bass IV. Its a good buy for me truly happy with it.
