This has been discussed previously, though there never seems to be many experienced views, so I am hoping time will bring more opinions.

How much love are people giving the Dimension Bass - American Deluxe or Standard?

I have not liked the tones of the ones I have heard. However, that might be more the players than the bass. I am definitely someone who prefers vintage Fender tones. I probably won't ever pick one up simply because I'm not a fan of the modern neck, or those kinds of pick ups. So I don't know if I can ever give you an opinion other than what I have heard. For modern aggressive tones I imagine the D bass would give you plenty of quality tones to work with. Fender makes really nice instruments at all levels, but especially in the American line. Glad you're happy with your purchase. I'm sure you'll get many years of playing enjoyment from her. Now post some pics so we can ogle that cool finish! 8)

So long as the quality is there, it will be fine.

I have enough vintage style basses to keep me going.

I'd love passive Fender American Standard Dimension Bass! Lefty; single p'up, 4-string, in that new Ocean Blue.

What is your interest in only one pick-up?

Just picked an American Standard Dimension V w/ 2 pickups yesterday. Liking the tones and just a tad neck heavy. Not really light but it is much lighter than a Stingray 5 I have, which is a beast on the shoulder.
Will probably take it to practice this afternoon and see what it can do. May change strings, though, to Dunlops, after hearing Ed Friedland's video review.

I still love my American Deluxe Dimension. I have had it for a year now. It does have a neck dive but the tone is great. I have the HH IV and with the selector switch, I can get several different tones. I would buy another one.

Because it is exactly right where I want it and will give me the sound quality and tone I desire.

Re heavy neck :has it got neck dive?

The neck might be a little heavy but the body size is smaller than, say a Stingray, which helps to balance the bass better.
Did have a little problem with neck diving but I was using a nylon strap that is very slick so it probably aggravated the problem.
Overall, the bass sounded great. I will just swap out the strap for something that more grip and it will fix the neck dive.

Expecting an American Standard Dimension Bass IV H
"Incredible", that this model is missing.
4-string has to remain standard. ;-)

I think he meant expecting = there should be. An American Standard IV H does not exist as far as I can see.

I should have my HH soon - I am quite looking forward to it.

My biggest worry is neck dive - I despise neck dive, probably because of the way I play - though I won't judge the bass yet.
