American Standard Dimension Basses - who has seen them?

Looks like it is the American Deluxe with the passive pups. Has the 5-bolt neck which is not normal in the Standards.

For a limited range of colours, they have done well - the dark colours are nicely brooding (even the black properly black), the lighter colours are nicely bright.

Pickups are the same Dimension humbuckers as the American Deluxe except for the addition of a passive Jazz Bass control layout (2 volumes, master tone) and the lack of a 5-way selector allowing coil tap and split.

I like the standard D-Bass!

The Deluxes were a bit much for my liking - this stripped back version appeals to me; I can imagine rocking hard with it.

The black is a proper black - all black - none of this black + maple.

Blue + maple = winner

Not available for lefties for the moment, but if Fender adds the Dimensions in their ADE program you can design your own!

Personally I would be happier with the coil tap/split abilities from the Deluxe on the Standard in the form of a Factory Special Run.

The Dimension deserves an American Special model with a "grease bucket" tone pot and two triplebucker pickups.

For the Deluxe I opt for a backrouted Dimension with a bound channel 2-octave ebony fingerboard, three humbuckers and the choice of 4, 5 and 6 string versions in fretted and fretless.

I am not really sure what you just said.

I just like them :-)
