Man, if you are right handed you've got more choices than you can shake a stick at. But if you are left handed like me, it's the standard P and Jazz American (Mexican and US for the jazz). And colors are limited, in short we are the poor relation. Not askin' for a slew of new models in lefty but can Fender at least add on or two more models and I am willing to pay a little more. Personally, I would love to see the 51 P bass come back. If offered in lefty it would be a gift from the gods.

Yeah as a lefty you are kind of hammerbagged on choices unless money is no object and you go custom shop.....or scour ebay for parts and build one yourself. I happen to be a lefty....and I mean full lefty I can not even write my name with my right hand but when I started playing I was not even aware there was such a thing as a lefty guitar and unlike Hendrix did not have the imagination to take a righty, flip it, and string it upside down. So I simply had to learn to play righty.

El Viejo, I agree! Power to the Southpaw People!

There's this guy named Ned Flanders, he runs a store called the Leftorium at Springfield Mall. They only stock left handed bass guitars. Check it out!

While my credit card is not maxed out, if Fender were to offer a left handed American Dimension bass it surely would be. :D

I looked at the ADE awhile back and was unimpressed. I think you're better off with either the American Standard Precision or Jazz ordered from Sweetwater.

Fender Custom Shop is out of my financial reach, or I would go that route with gladness. :)

I'm a lefty,
I managed to get a hold of lefty Fender(US & MIM) basses & guitars I'm happy with.
USA P Bass , 2 MIM Jazz, USA Strat, MIM Strat, MIM Tele

In my opinion Fender are the best out there, at least they are making them on a consistant basis.
My beef is the retaiers! They don't carry/order quality lefty inst.
All I ever see are Squier, the cheapest Ibenez, & every other cheap bass/guitar made.

I had a discussion with one reatailer & he told me leftys don't sell, I tried to explain that leftys know retaiers wom't carry quality inst. so we don't come back to their location...

I guess it's the what came first "chicken or the egg" senerio.

Your are lucky. Back in the 60s I had to play righty, no left handed basses were available to me. Same thing with golf. I still play both right handed, along with rifle and bow, probably a couple other things I can not bring to mind, oh yeah, I switch hit baseball, all with equal skill.....not a star in any, but darn sure enjoy myself.

Lucky bugger!! I'm 64 & I remember the days everything I played had to be turned upside down I tried righthanded back then just couldn't do it, not to mention I thought if Paul could play lefty I should be able to as well. (hey I was 13 1/2 at the time.)
